Children’s Choir Schedule
At this time, we will have only two levels of choir: 4-5 Grade and 6-8 Grade. (I did not receive enough responses for a 3rd grade level. We will revisit this option in fall of 2025. I am sorry if this is a disappointment to you). These age groups will sing together at Masses and events but will rehearse separately. Our first rehearsals will be on September 9 for choristers who would be in grades 4 and 5 and on September 10 for choristers who would be in grades 6-8; both choirs will rehearse from 4:30-5:30 in GA’s Music Room (just up the stairs from the undercroft). From 5:30-6:00PM the choristers will make their way to the church for some time of prayer and liturgical catechesis. We will teach the children components of various prayer services and week-by-week to build them into a fully sung prayer service. These will include but are not limited to, Stations of the Cross, Adoration, and Evening Prayer. Parents are highly encouraged to come and learn these prayers and about the liturgy as well.
This ministry will be run in a quasi-”graded” manner. Obviously, it won’t be on any report cards or records, but what I mean is that lessons will build on one another week after week so regular attendance is a must to get the most out of this ministry. New members are welcome to join in the fall or in the spring. Permission forms will be available (see attached). Below is a schedule of events for the 2024-2025 choir season.
